Blued

Blued is a social networking app for Android that helps LGBTQ+ users meet people nearby, explore connections, and expand their social circle. Its main task is combining location-based discovery with private communication and community activity in one place. Users can browse potential matches, adjust preferences, see distance and online status, and start conversations through text, photos, voice, or video. The app also supports groups, topic discussions, event information, live streams, voice chat rooms, and timeline updates, giving users several ways to connect locally or with people around the world.

How does Blued help users discover people?

Blued shows potential matches based on location and lets users set preferences to influence who they find. Nearby browsing can be used for dating, relationships, friendships, or networking, while global browsing makes it possible to view users in other places.

The app displays real-time distance and online status. Travel mode lets users explore other cities, and advanced filters provide additional control over who they see and who can see them.

Which communication features are available?

Users can exchange private text messages, photos, videos, audio, stickers, and other updates with matches. Voice and video calling are supported for more direct conversations, and the source describes calls as encrypted.

Blued also includes live streaming, voice chat rooms for group conversations, and a timeline for posting updates. These options support both one-to-one chats and broader social interaction.

Can users control their visibility?

Privacy options include private albums and private streams, allowing users to choose what they share and how it is presented. Listed controls also include hiding distance, online status, and read receipts, as well as visiting without a trace.

The source says users sign up and verify an account before accessing messaging and posts, and it describes manual verification of Blued users. Users can complete a profile with a photo and short description before setting their preferences.

What community activities does the app offer?

Users can create groups, join topic-based community discussions, and find information about nearby LGBTQ+ events. These features are designed for staying connected with the local gay community and meeting new friends.

Blued may suit people who want location-based social discovery alongside messaging, live content, group conversations, and international browsing. The listed advantages also include removing ads and using exclusive badges and icons.
