Catholic Missal 2023 / 2024

Daily Mass readings and the liturgical calendar

The core function of Catholic Missal 2023 / 2024 is its daily readings for the Catholic Mass. The app provides an organized liturgical calendar with a dedicated section for today's Mass readings, so users can follow the readings assigned to each day within the Church year. This makes the calendar the main reference point for the rest of the app.

Liturgy of Hours and daily prayer texts

The app also includes the Divinum Officium, which is described as the complete Breviary prayer book with the Liturgy of Hours. For each day, this section covers several hours of prayer, including Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Night Prayer. The texts are listed as available in several languages: Latin, Deutsch, Espanol, Francais, Italiano, Magyar, Polski, and Portugues.

Scripture and a collection of prayers

The Vatican Catholic Bible is included with an English commentary, which the app presents as a way to study the scriptures in more depth. A separate prayer collection groups Catholic prayers into categories such as daily prayers, prayers for divine mercy, prayers related to spiritual warfare, and prayers for special occasions.

Catholic news and offline use

A Catholic News Releases section is updated daily with news and events from the Catholic world. Most features are described as working mainly offline. The news section is the main exception, since it requires an internet connection to stay current.

Listing details and limitations

The listing shows version 3.195 and places the app in the News & Magazines category. The source material does not clearly state a minimum Android version, so compatibility details should be checked on the store listing before installation.
