Compass & Altimeter Mod

Compass & Altimeter Mod provides compass direction and altitude information for outdoor use. Its compass uses magnetic declination to indicate geographic north, and the app also reports altitude above mean sea level (AMSL). The source states that the app works without network access.

Compass direction and display options

The compass is intended to help users orient themselves by showing geographic north rather than relying only on magnetic north. Users can choose among different dial designs and color themes, including high-contrast options. The app supports readings in degrees, grads, milliradians and gradians (gons), giving users several ways to view angular measurements.

Other documented information includes magnetic field strength and address details. The app also includes a bubble-level function, described in the source alongside its dial and measuring options.

Altitude and daylight information

Alongside compass direction, the app provides altitude above mean sea level. This gives users a separate elevation reading to consult during outdoor activities. It also displays sunrise and sunset times for the user's location, which can help with planning around daylight. The source does not specify how these readings are calculated or what controls are available for them.

Use without network access

The description says the app can retrieve information without network access. This is presented as useful in remote areas, though no further details are given about which individual readings or tools have specific requirements. Together, the compass, altitude, daylight times and display settings make up the documented set of outdoor reference tools.
