РИА Новости

РИА Новости provides news coverage for Russia and the wider world, with information on economics, finance, politics, ecology, sports, science, technology, culture, show business and other international topics. Its supported purpose is to help users follow current events through regularly updated articles and additional media formats.

Following a broad range of news

The app organizes coverage across many subject areas, allowing readers to look for information connected with their interests. News is described as being updated around the clock, including daily breaking news, so the content focuses on current events rather than a single topic or region. A tags section provides access to materials associated with a chosen topic or keyword, while quick search supports finding relevant information.

Reading and viewing news in different formats

Alongside written articles, РИА Новости includes photo tapes, thematic videos, cartoons, podcasts, author programs and visual infographics. Breaking news notifications are also documented, giving the app another way to present new developments. Media materials are optimized for the device, and a dark theme can be activated automatically according to the system settings for a different reading appearance.

Discussion and reader interaction

The chat feature supports participation around the news. Users can comment on articles, respond to other participants and react to messages with different emotions. These tools let readers take part in conversations in addition to reading or viewing the published material.

Navigation and personal controls

A navigation bar provides access to sharing news through social networks and email, as well as to the chat and tags sections. The app also documents options for customizing an avatar and personal data. Together, these controls support browsing, sharing and participation without changing the app's central focus on news coverage.
